I know this sounds completely cliché, but I have always dreamed of living in New York since i was a little girl, I cant believe this dream has turned into a reality!
So as most of you may know at this stage from my various Instagram and Facebook posts that I have made the nerve-racking but also exciting transition and moved Stateside….New York to be precise!!! I made the move in February and I was very happy in Dublin but i suppose I secretly longed for something exciting and a change. I have to acknowledge that I am very fortunate to have options in my life, after 6 years of hard work, 3 university degrees and a successful modelling career I was now faced with the dilemma… what to do next?
I never really thought of myself living abroad. I have would considered myself too much of a home bird and that I’d miss my family far too much! But in life sometimes opportunities come up that you just cant say no to. So after spending a lot of time in America the past year on holidays, I really loved every minute of it.
So just a couple of weeks ago I packed two suitcases and sought out to make the change happen. I am now signed as a New York model with MSA Model Management and I’m still pinching myself it sounds so surreal. It was only 3 years ago I was completely inexperienced, after winning Miss Ireland and now I’m an International model based out of New York I am just going to continue to feel proud of myself.
Of course I have promised my parents to come back way too regularly and also signed with Andrea Roche Model Agency in Dublin which gives me a great chance to stay in contact with all my friends and work colleagues in Ireland. In fact I have been back twice already for work commitments so if that is anything to judge by. But for now, I am going to continue enjoying the concrete jungle where dreams are made!
